Film Review - Shaun of the Dead

Shaun of the Dead, a film directed by Edgar Wright, is an attempted parody of the 2004 released zombie horror movie Dawn of the Dead. In it appear some well-known British comedy actors such as Simon Pegg (as Shaun), Kate Ashfield (as Liz) and Nick Frost (as Ed).
Written by Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright, this motion picture portrays the unusual way of how the living of a 29-year-old man, with no real ambition in life, oddly turns out. Shaun, the main character, played by Simon Pegg, is a desperate failure: he has a dead-end job at an appliance store where the staff he works with doesn't take him seriously, spends his nights with his best mate, Ed, at the local pub, the Winchester Arms and his girlfriend, Liz, breaks up with him. This last was quite significant, since after that he decides to turn his moribund life around. However, strange things begin to happen as people start acting in bizarre ways, and Shaun and Ed conjure a plan to save their friends by dealing with an entire community that has returned from the dead to eat the living.
The action takes place in modern London, basically in the main character’s house, in his couch and at the Winchester Arms bar.
I found the plot rather weak. It was in need of inspiration, as well as imagination, and was quite unconvincing, since it was about flesh eating zombies who “died” again by being shot in the head…
It is classified as a “Romantic comedy with some zombies”, however I did not find it romantic nor hilarious, but there sure are a lot of zombies.
In my opinion, a lot more effort could have been put into this film. Not from the characterizing sector, that part was reasonably good, they were fairly convincing zombies (I’ve never seen a real zombie but that is probably how one looks like).
I was not particularly fond of the film, but I imagine that someone who likes zombies or zombie’s almost comedies, or Dawn of the Dead’s spoofs, will enjoy this film.

First of all, I would like to say that I enjoyed reading this review, probably because it shares many of my opinions...
Also, I think it is a very good piece of writing, perfectly clear and understandable.
Furthermore ,it shows a very educated and well based point of view.
Finally I just want to say that this is one of the best reviews I've seen in a long time.
