NATIONAL TREASURE - FILM REVIEW

“National Treasure

“National Treasure” is a film produced by Jon Turteltaub and Jerry Bruckheimer, with Nicolas Cage, Diana Kruger and Sean Bear. It’s a family friendly adventure movie which lasted a little longer on the theatres due to the audiences it had.

Benjamin Franklin Gates (Nicolas Cage), a third generation treasure hunter is trying to find the Legendary Knights Templar Treasure, based on some clues left by the America’s Founding Fathers. However, Ben Gates discovered that the map of the treasure’s location was hidden on the back of the Declaration of Independence, the best guarded document in the U.S.A. Even so, Gates must steal the Declaration before it falls into the wrong hands. With all the clues joined, Gates was able to get into the catacombs beneath New York City, where the Treasure was hidden for 2000 years.

This movie has some pros and cons that I consider important to refer. “National Treasure” is a film fulfilled of good scenarios that are tie in with the story of the movie itself. There is a mixture of old scenarios and new ones that gives much more interest to the movie. In terms of story, “National Treasure” is a film with some details about the foundation of the U.S.A and it is a movie with plenty of imagination. The producer knew how to reconcile the history of the U.S.A and his imagination and he did it very well. In my point of view, one of the best things that this movie has and which attracts the audience is its story. Another thing that I kept in mind was the interpretation of the actors. They represented their roles very well as if they were real treasure hunters. It was fascinating!
On the other hand, there are some bad things that must be considered. There are only two things that I consider important to mention: firstly, some of the clues were found too easily, without much searching; secondly, there were some technical errors (nothing of much importance). As you see, this movie hasn’t many negative points to focus on.

In my opinion, “National Treasure” was one of the best adventure movies I’ve ever seen! Its scenarios, its story and imagination add to the interpretation of the actors are the main positive points of “National Treasure”. Ignoring the few negative points the movie has, it is with no doubt a great adventure film. I certainly had a good time watching it and wondering what the next clue was!
